Data Deletion Instructions

Effective Date: June 3, 2026
Last Updated: June 3, 2026

Overview

This page provides instructions for requesting deletion of the data associated with your PostLeap account, including any data PostLeap receives from Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram).

If you logged in with Facebook or connected a Facebook or Instagram account, you can request deletion of your Facebook- and Instagram-connected data using the instructions below.

You may submit a deletion request at any time using either of the methods described in this document.

What Data We Store

When you connect a social account, we store information needed to provide the service, which may include:

  • Your account profile details (such as username, account ID, and profile picture)
  • Access tokens used to publish on your behalf
  • Posts, captions, media, and scheduling information you create in PostLeap
  • Basic account information (such as email address) used to sign in to PostLeap

Option 1: Delete From Within PostLeap

You can remove your data directly in the app:

  • Log in to your PostLeap account.
  • Go to Account Settings.
  • To disconnect a single platform, open the Connect tab and remove the relevant social account. This deletes the stored tokens and profile data for that account.
  • To remove everything, choose Delete Account. This permanently deletes your PostLeap account and all associated data.

Option 2: Email Us a Deletion Request

If you can't access your account, you can request deletion by email. Send a message to contact@postleap.io with:

  • The subject line "Data Deletion Request"
  • The email address associated with your PostLeap account
  • The connected platform(s) and account username(s) you want removed (e.g. your Instagram or Facebook handle)

How we verify your request

To prevent unauthorized deletions, we verify ownership before processing a request. We do this by matching the requesting email address against the email on file for your PostLeap account. If we cannot confirm a match, we may ask for additional proof of account ownership (for example, confirmation from the account email or details that only the account owner would know).

Confirmation

Once your data has been deleted, we will send a deletion confirmation email containing a reference code for your records.

Removing PostLeap From Facebook / Instagram

You can also revoke PostLeap's access from Meta's own settings.

Facebook

  • Open your Facebook profile and go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites.
  • Find PostLeap in the list and select Remove.

Instagram

  • Open Instagram and go to Settings → Accounts Center → Apps and websites (or Settings → Apps and websites).
  • Select PostLeap and choose Remove to revoke access.

Revoking access stops PostLeap from accessing your Meta account going forward. To also delete data we have already stored, please use Option 1 or Option 2 above.

What Gets Deleted and When

Upon a verified request, we delete the profile data, access tokens, and post/scheduling data associated with your account. We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days of verification.

Where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud, only the minimum data necessary is retained temporarily and is deleted once that purpose has been fulfilled.

What we do not delete

Content that has already been published to Facebook, Instagram, or any other connected platform remains on that platform and is not removed by this process. To remove published content, please delete it directly on the platform where it was posted.
